Day 5: Lunch--Turkey Burger

Lunch today was a turkey burger on whole grain roll with mandarin oranges.  The burger was still semi-frozen so I microwaved it for 2 minutes which seemed to be the perfect amount of time.

The burger comes with two ketchup packets, but because I am not a huge ketchup fan, I skipped the ketchup to start.  The burger was surprisingly juicy and flavorful.  Admittedly, I don't eat a lot of turkey burgers, but I believe this was the most moist turkey burger I have ever had.  It would satisfy any meat lovers burger craving.  It is a bit reminiscent of meatloaf in the fact that it is not just straight meat in the patty but also has mushrooms and I presume onions to maintain the moisture.  I tried a bit of ketchup on the burger, but for my taste the ketchup was overwhelming and I preferred the burger alone.  I've already addressed that I have concerns regarding reheating bread and that became an issue with the roll which was hard in some pots and soggy in others.  It was typically soggy where the bun and burger had contact.

The side for this lunch was mandarin oranges.  I'm not a huge fan of oranges so that wasn't a winner for me, but they were fine as far as oranges go.

Overall the turkey burger was very good and probably a meal I would opt to get more than once.
